Michael Phelps. 7 Olympic Golds in Beijing. WOW

August 15th, 2008 · No Comments

The 2008 Olympics in Beijing have been remarkable in my opinion. It’s created a living legend in Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps. Tonight he won his 7th Gold Medal in a highly contested and protested race by .01 seconds. His sportsmanship and pride is something that all athletes and competitors should follow and admire. With all the controversy in sports between steroid abuse and performance enhancing drugs, it’s nice to see something like this occur. Congrats Michael… Congrats..

An Opening Ceremony That Tops Them All…

August 8th, 2008 · No Comments

I’m not a huge Olympics guy, but I have watched all the opening ceremonies since 1984 and admit that the one tonight in Beijing was one of the tops. The artistry, the music, the performances, and the overall spectacle was in one word AWESOME. The march of the athletes into the stadium was greeted with cheers and enthusiasm. It wasn’t the Red China that was depicted from years past, but a New China. From the countries with one athlete to the US and China delegations with 500+ athletes, it was the 2008 Summer Olympics. Congrats to the Chinese for putting together an awesome experience. 16 days of extraordinary coverage and sports ahead, we’ll wish for the best.
