It was a sad reading on the OC Register today to read that longtime food and travel critic Elmer Dills passed away today. At 82 he truely led a legendary life and travelled and ate the world. He gave his life and blood to restaurants and many to this day, have his top reviews posted to signify their accomplishments.
It was sad news tonight to hear that Don Lafontaine died from complications from a collapsed lung. His work in voiceovers and movie trailers is legendary and he’s a voice of a thousand previews. RIP Good Man.. Hope the Oscars give him an honorary Oscar. Enjoy this youtube clip…
It’s going to be an awesome year to be a chargers fan. It’s a tough season ahead with an incredibly hard schedule including Indy and the Pat’s coming to the Q. Should Merriman have gone out with surgery and a season ending knee fixer? Who knows… All I know… It’s NFL Season…
The 2008 Olympics in Beijing have been remarkable in my opinion. It’s created a living legend in Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps. Tonight he won his 7th Gold Medal in a highly contested and protested race by .01 seconds. His sportsmanship and pride is something that all athletes and competitors should follow and admire. With all the controversy in sports between steroid abuse and performance enhancing drugs, it’s nice to see something like this occur. Congrats Michael… Congrats..
I’m not a huge Olympics guy, but I have watched all the opening ceremonies since 1984 and admit that the one tonight in Beijing was one of the tops. The artistry, the music, the performances, and the overall spectacle was in one word AWESOME. The march of the athletes into the stadium was greeted with cheers and enthusiasm. It wasn’t the Red China that was depicted from years past, but a New China. From the countries with one athlete to the US and China delegations with 500+ athletes, it was the 2008 Summer Olympics. Congrats to the Chinese for putting together an awesome experience. 16 days of extraordinary coverage and sports ahead, we’ll wish for the best.
Just got done rewatching this classic with Jack Lennon, Ed Harris, Al Pacino, and Alec Baldwin.. What a movie.. great sales movie, great drama, and a 10/10 movie all around.
